Kotor, Montenegro – In Venetian times, the noble architecture and wealth of the Dalmatian coastal towns of Kotor and Perast surpassed all others in the region. Palaces, cathedrals and churches were destroyed for the most part by the devastating earthquake in April 1979. Yet the bay with its fascinating landscape and scenes of past wealth as UNESCO world natural and cultural heritage sites is again a stop-off point for cruise ships in the Adriatic. A Mediterranean style luxury villa has recently been built here. The dominant feature inside and out is the natural stone. Parquet Made in Germany has also been installed in the villa over an area of some 180 square metres. The warm Copper Plank 1-Strip Oak creates a perfect symbiosis with the stone and glass.

The Bay of Kotor is characterised by the shallow water of the Adriatic and jagged rock faces. This is what inspired architect Andrej Mitrovic. Cubic shape, natural materials and elements typical of the region: Mitrovic created a four-story building that is both modern, yet blends in harmoniously with the environment. In the living area and bedrooms he opted for elegant Plank 1-Strip Oak floors from HARO with glue-down installation and especially easy-care, matt Permadur high finish in a warm copper brown shade. This creates a mellowing effect against the cool of the natural stone and glass materials.

Only high-quality, environmentally-friendly materials and modern techniques were used essentially in the "Stone" villa. The four floors accommodate a large garage, a wellness area, a living room with open fireplace and kitchen, a study, wine cellar, three bedrooms with private bathrooms as well as a separate apartment with large terrace. The view across the bay is breathtaking. Outdoor living is enhanced by the beautifully landscaped garden with its fruit trees and barbecue area.
