Amsterdam – Japanese sports shoe brand Asics has opened an exclusive sports store in the centre of the city. Brand leader HARO was chosen for fitting out the interiors.

The Asics store in Amsterdam is located in Stadhouderskade, one of the city’s most popular tourist haunts. This is also the street where the Heineken brewery was formerly located. The brewery moved premises in 1988 and the historic building was transformed into a brewery museum with tasting.

World-renowned company steeped in tradition

Asics is the fifth-largest brand in the sports shoe market at present with branches all over the world. The first sports shoe under the brand was developed in Kobe, Japan in 1949. Runners in particular swear by the high-tech innovations to master all challenges they face in competition. Asics, as the company was named in 1977, is an acronym of the Latin phrase “Anima Sana in Corpore Sano”, which translates to “healthy soul in a healthy body”.
